5 Ways to use Vinegar in the Summer Time

Post By Hugo Iriarte

Summer isn’t always a walk in the park. Thanks to the heat and humidity, surviving the year’s hottest season means dealing with summer’s inevitable quirks.

You can fight back against the side effects of summer with some white vinegar. One bottle of this natural cleaner can serve you in many around-the-house projects.

Here are some useful vinegar hacks that can make your life easier in the summer:

Renew your garden by caring for acid-loving plants. Gardenias and azaleas grow best in soil with a pH level of 5.5. If you want to give your plants a hand, try mixing a cup of vinegar and a gallon of water and pouring it into the soil.

Clean mold and mildew off your deck. Restoring your deck is easier than you think. Mix one part vinegar and one part water together to create a mold and mildew cleaner. Spray on the affected areas and watch your deck come back to life.

Get rid of a dog smell. After a long day of playing outside, your dog will start to… well, smell like a dog! Vinegar can help get the smell out of their fur. Wet your dog with fresh water. Mix one cup of vinegar with two gallons of water. Use this solution on your dog and dry them off.

Clean the gunk off your grill. Grease and cooked-on food isn’t a great look for your grill. Start your summer of barbecuing with a fresh new slate by cleaning your grilling grate. Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle, soak the grill grate and use a grill brush or a crumpled piece of aluminum foil to scrape away the gunk.

Remove stains from your pool. Mold and mildew around your pool? Vinegar can cut right through it. Drain your pool below the line of mildew and use a vinegar-soaked sponge to scrub away the stains.

P.S. Did you know that we sell 10, 20 and 30 percent vinegar at Factory Direct Chemicals? Our natural cleaner is stronger than anything you’ll find at the supermarket, cutting through grease, grime, mold and mildew with ease.
